It’s no secret to my friends that I’m a hopeless Anglophile. I lived there in 1971 – 1972 and have been back many times. If it weren’t for my animals, I’d be over there for at least 3 months of the year.
The other night I found a wonderful show on Acorn TV called “Wainwright Walks.” There are 2 seasons and in it, the show host @therealjuliabradbury walks a number of the walks popularized by a gentleman named Alfred Wainwright. The scenery is absolutely stunning! It was lovely also to have a peek at Wainwright’s guide books and beautifully detailed pen and ink drawings. He’s definitely worth checking out.
This piece was inspired by Season 1 where Julia does the Coast to Coast – west to east across northern England. Of course, there is a lot of rain and wet slogs!
