All art has a story behind it...
My name is Pamela.
I am a contemporary artist who paints both abstract works and landscapes. Landscapes were my first love, but as I learned more about composition, values, shapes, and lines, I was intrigued by how integral those building blocks were to abstract artwork. And now I'm obsessed with working abstractly. As a result, my landscapes have become looser and less representational.
My paintings are full of layers. They might contrast and partially obscure what is underneath. I'm intrigued by hidden things, the sense of history that comes from discovering what lies below. I paint intuitively at first and then look for an emerging composition that I can build on with more layers of paint. It's a bit like being an archeologist but in reverse.
