This is a blueberry of a sky. Night time rolling in with some storm clouds. I love the cool color temperatures. Especially as my AC seems to have stopped working and it’s hot and muggy here. Maybe I’ll paint a snow leaden sky next!
No time today for making lots of small marks so I went for something looser and softer. Sort of softer…
I love the dark sky color. It’s a mix of Indanthrone, Naples Yellow, a touch of Gold Ochre and some Warm White.
Nothing seems to be as it should today. I can’t get IG to show this image in its full size and I’m trying to watch Death and Nightingales but the Firestick is not behaving as desired. Probably it’s time to go cuddle with the dog.
Anyway, more little brush marks with an orange moon rising.
More small brush strokes and I finally attempted some clouds! These take quite a long time to do but I really like the way things seem to move in the sky.
This is the same technique as day 45. I love the vibration you get using different color temperatures in the same value. In this one, I’ve carried the technique down into the ground plane just to see how it works.
This is my favorite sky so far. I was inspired by @david.grossmann.artist who you should definitely go check out. These so very talented young people! Jeez!
I don’t know if you can see it or not from the photo but the sky is made up of a bunch of tiny brush marks – differing colors but the same in value for the most part. They all kind of melt into each other and I love the effect. I have to try it now in a sky with clouds.
