There’s a hotel in Devon, England, that sits half way up a hill along the River Tamar. This meandering waterway forms a good part of the border between Devon and Cornwall. The hotel is called Endsleigh and it’s my favorite place in England, perhaps the entire world, if I’m being honest.

I’ve painted several pieces inspired by my time there. Far From Crazy is one of them. It’s how I imagine the gardens and far off views in autumn. The painting’s title is a play on words, of course, but it’s how I feel when I’m there. Safe, protected and far, far from crazy.
